Leopard Rock Conquistador

Brown large spotted blanket gelding. Own brother of Leopard Rock Queen of Hearts. “Archie’’ was bought by Marie & Carel de Bruyn as a 5yr old. Shortly thereafter, in his first and only in hand show Horse of the Year 1997, he was Champion Appaloosa Gelding. He then went on to represent the Appaloosa breed against the winners of every breed category where he became Supreme Reserve Champion Gelding. This was the first time that a minority breed had achieved this accolade. He literally paved the way for others to follow. The next horse to achieve this was our stud stallion, Maluti Toby’s Many Moons.

Black leopard Champion Appaloosa mare. Full sister to Conquistador. So named because of the perfect big black heart-shaped spot on her right quarter which was very noticeable as a brown foal. Beautiful mare who lives up to her name. Photos at 3 wks, 4yrs and headshot @ 6yrs. See ‘Mare’ page.

Copper bay purebred NC Appaloosa mare. By Leopard Rock Fort Apache [tri-colour true leopard] and o/o Maluti Cherry [red bay roan dam of Maluti Toby’s Many Moons] and 1/2 sister to Many Moons. Named thus because she is strikingly similar to her dam. Exceptional mare who has the conformation, elegance, movement, ability and heart to compete at a very high level. A chip off the old block, “Over The Moon’’ has really good uphill movement and cadence, and the ability to achieve in the sport arenas she was bred for, namely dressage, eventing and in hand showing. Very bold mare, plenty of ‘spark’. Showing huge talent under saddle and loving being worked. Photos @ 3 days, 1 week, 1 year, 3.5 yrs and newly under saddle at rising 5yrs. E-mail from Ashley a few months after starting Over The Moon:

“ Moon is going so well. She is always far ahead on the out rides, only our stallion can keep up with her!!! She is trotting and cantering on the bit now and is very good in the arena. But now that she has learnt how to jump that is all she wants to do!! She is doing combinations and just loves them. Today she jumped 1 meter. She is very good and is starting to canter over her jumps without getting in a muddle. And her movement at the trot is outrageous!!! None of my friends can sit to her trot! Its huge!!!”
